About Allison

"I am passionate about helping people heal their relationship with themselves and their loved ones. If you have ever felt unsafe, unloved, or insufficient in your own skin, you are not alone. In a world that is often harsh and unkind, it can be difficult to recognize our innate worth and beauty. I will support you in your journey to reclaim your life from pain, trauma, shame, perfectionism, and cultural expectations of gender and beauty.

I believe in a holistic approach to healing that nurtures your mind, body, heart, and soul. I use somatic and compassion-based therapies to help you befriend and tend to your body and nervous system, which supports emotional regulation and fosters full embodied living. When we are regulated and safe in our bodies, we can connect, create, grow, and heal. This allows us to experience more joy and peace in our lives and relationships.

I also love integrating expressive arts therapy into sessions to help process challenging emotions. My work with couples is informed by emotion-focused therapy and polyvagal theory to help foster communication, connection, play, and intimacy.

As a teenager, I was diagnosed with a severe and debilitating auto-immune disease which left me feeling hollow, worthless, and alone. My own therapeutic journey helped me realize how powerful the mind-body connection truly is for healing. Through sensitivity, kindness and compassion, I rediscovered my value, purpose, meaning, and magic! I now feel called to help others reclaim their own power and light.

I have a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I am currently receiving training in polyvagal-informed therapy for trauma and couples."
