About Sarah
"I was drawn to counselling through a belief in the power of reflection, connection, and
supportive relationships to foster healing and growth. I believe most people can benefit from therapy at some point in their lives—particularly during periods of stress, transition, or when life begins to feel stuck or misaligned. Counselling offers a dedicated space to slow down, reflect, and move toward a life that feels more meaningful and intentional.
My approach is collaborative and grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also integrate mindfulness-based and solution-focused strategies, and work from a trauma-informed lens. Together, we explore patterns, clarify values, and develop practical tools for navigating difficult thoughts, emotions, and life circumstances with greater flexibility and awareness.
I work with children (ages 8+), youth, adults, and couples who are seeking support with
emotional challenges, life transitions, or relationship concerns. Each person’s experience is unique, and I approach counselling with curiosity, respect, and collaboration. My role is to help you understand what you’re experiencing, relate differently to difficult thoughts and emotions, and move toward values-based choices that support greater clarity, balance, and connection.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change, and I aim to create a space that is compassionate, grounded, and non-judgmental—where you can show up fully and honestly, without needing to filter or protect parts of yourself.
I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Finding the right fit matters, and whether that connection is with me or another counsellor at Talking Helps Heal, my hope is that you find a space where you feel supported, understood, and ready to begin."
